I attended a session this morning where researchers at Kent State reported some findings on student perception of the value of technology in their learning experience. The tools evaluated -- powerpoint, and Web CT -- are of different class than the t ools George Siemens referred to this morning. Or are they? (see the wki for some brief notes)
What are student expectations at your institution? Do students bring the expectation that the digital tools they use to build social networks will also be used in their learning? Or is the notion of digital native an over generalization? Does that depend on the demographic of your students?
