Promote ODCE with a blog widget

What's a widget? A widget is a piece of code that you can customize to display content of your choosing. Bloggers and other web publishers use them to pull in content from other sources to display on their pages. There are many services out there that provide widget templates, one of them is Widget Box. Using widget Boxes "Blidget" service, I have created a widget that displays ODCE Blog postings that you can display on  your blog or web page. The widget looks like this:

Registration Open

Registration is now open for ODCE 2008! Go to the conference information site to register.

I made a modification to the aggregated blog feed for Ohio education bloggers. I discovered the MySyndicaat account I was using only supports five aggregated feeds for free. (The fine print says it will host an unlimited number only for the first 30 days. Then you have to subscribe.)

So I went back to a resource I had forgotten about for a couple years: Suprglu. Superglu lets you aggregate feeds and display them as one blog. You also get a composite RSS feed. In the past, suprglu was slow to update so we'll see how it goes (It is currently missing a post I made this morning).
